Karsten is 5 months!

Victory! We start 'em young.

He wants to crawl but just can't quite figure it out yet.
What a mess!

" Um, let me think for a second, ya I'm cute."

I catch him sucking on his big toe, yummy!
Dad caught a picture with the drool in mid air!

Look at those rolls.

We can't believe our boy is already 5 months old! He is so much fun! He's becoming so much more aware of his surroundings. He's been grabbing at things a lot more efficiently, most recently our faces which is so cute and painful at times. He's eating solid foods as you can see from the above pictures. He's been rolling over a lot more and in the early morning hours he tends to roll over onto his tummy in his sleep and can't get back over so mommy gets to go rescue him. He'll figure it out soon I'm sure:0)
We are so overjoyed with what a blessing it is to be parents! We love our little guy.

Just for fun

Doesn't he look Asian here? He has mommy's eyes.

He's found his feet

New hair

I cut my hair, I know almost all new mommies do it. It was always in a pony tail because Karsten would pull it, and I never did it anymore, so it was time. Chris approved so I jumped at the chance and did it before he changed his mind. Yay! I love it!

Crazy weather!

This was the day southern California got crazy weather. This picture was after less than 10 minutes of rain and hail! Trash cans were floating down the street. There was also a tornado warning.
That white stuff is hail.
... and more

I was playing with Karsten during one of is awake periods and I remembered him being fascinated by me throwing my 'USC' football in the air. So I grabbed the football and began to throw it up in the air and I began to get a little chuckle out of Karsten. That little chuckle turned into outright laughter. We didn't get the most intense part of the laughter in the video clip, but it still pretty enjoyable. The clip is a little long, but this is for those who like a lot of a good thing, especially family members. Welp enjoy!

Fun New Stuff!

We've been having Karsten practice laying on his tummy and helping him go from his back to tummy and visa versa. We were doing this yesterday, Mother's Day, and we rolled him from his back to tummy. While we were sitting there watching him, he just rolled right back over onto his back all by himself! We were so amazed. He did the same thing a couple minutes later. Then, today I had him laying on his blanket on the floor on his back, as usual, I was in the kitchen doing dishes, when I came back he was on his tummy! It was very exciting! We will see if this effects his sleep at night, hopefully not. We just can't believe how big he is getting! It really is going so fast. He'll be 4 months in less than a week, CRAZY! Anyway, just wanted to update:)

Washington

We just took a trip to Washinton so that I could be in my friend Bethany's wedding. Our friends, Steve & Jessica (& P.J.) Mulkey were gracious enough to let us stay at their house while we were up there, we had a lot of fun! This was Karsten's first plane ride, so I was a little nervous about it, but he did surprisingly well for 3 months old, epecially on the way there.
So while we were up there it snowed, which was very cool. The Mulkeys said it's actually pretty rare for it so snow up there, so it was quite special for us to be there.
We were busy with wedding stuff the first couple days, but Saturday we got to hang out with Steve & Jessica & they took us on a little tour of Seattle. We went to Pike's Place and drove around to look at sites.
P.J. loved Karsten! He just wanted to know where he was at all times. He's a little over a year old, such a cutie. He kept wanting to touch Karsten's face and give him kisses and hugs, I think he's ready for a sibbling:) So here are some photos to update our trip. Thanks again Mulkeys!

Karsten's latest

Karsten has been getting so big and he's so much fun! This is a picture right before bathtime, such cute little buns. He started laughing recently, to be exact it was Sunday April 13, 2008. We have been having fun experimenting with what makes him giggle. So far he has responded to peek-a-boo, and mommy using a high pitch voice to talk to him, very cute! Hopefully we will be able to catch it on the video camera soon. Lately, he has started to suck his bottom lip. Also he has started to hold on to his bottle when we give him one. The picture above is one we caught of him resting the bottle on his hands, but the other day daddy was giving him a bottle and he had a grasp on it and was holding it all by himself, Daddy had to pull it out of his hands when he was done b/c he still had a grasp on it. He's so fun and we are enjoying every minute of being parents!

You want pictures, we got pictures!

From the desk (crib) of Karsten Morlok,

K guys and girls, I have been hearing from my parents that you would all like to see more pictures of me. Well, fortunately for you my Mom and Dad have been taking lots of photos of me despite me keeping them up all hours of the night and day. I think they take all the pictures because I am so cute, especially since I started to smile a lot more. So I am going to attach a link or something for you all to view the photos through photobucket. I hope it works I don't really know what I am doing yet. Dad is helping me type this blog right this very moment. These things are so cool! So you can blame him for all the typos and grammatical errors, cause hey, I can't even speak a recognizable language yet. Well thanks for checking in on me. Thanks for all your support. I love you all so very much. Tchau!
